A 30-year-old Fort Wayne man has been charged with battery, strangulation and domestic battery after an alleged altercation with a woman Thursday.

Fort Wayne Police report that they were called to investigate a domestic dispute and found evidence that Joseph Bradfield of the 400 block of Birchtree Lane held a pregnant woman on a bed by straddling her. They also allege that that he held her throat down by the throat with a dishtowel and pushed her jaw down into the mattress. Although the woman reported that Bradfield tried to keep her in the home, she got away and ran to a nearby payphone and called police.

Bradfield is charged with battery, a Class C felony; strangulation, a Class D felony; and domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor.
