Faith briefs: Learn about Pope Francis; Abba House showing two films

Greg Erlandson, president and publisher of Our Sunday Visitor's publishing division in Huntington, will speak about being in Rome for events preceding and following the election of Pope Francis. The presentation will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday at Bishop Dwenger High School, 1300 E. Washington Center Road. Enter through Doors 4 and 5.The presentation is free and open to the public.

Erlandson went to Rome to cover the papal conclave that elected Argentine Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio as the current worldwide leader of the Catholic Church. Erlandson also will speak about the atmosphere in St. Peter's Square during the election process as well as Pope Francis' installation Mass.Local Christian bookstore Abba House will present two religious-themed movies at the North Campus Auditorium of the University of Saint Francis, 2702 Spring St.

“Restless Heart,” an epic about the life of St. Augustine and his Confessions, will be shown at 7 p.m. Saturday. “The Triumph,” a documentary on the reported apparitions of Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ, at Medjugorje, a village in Bosnia and Herzegovina in south-central Europe, will screen at 7 p.m. Monday.

Cost is $15 per person per movie. Tickets must be purchased in advance at Abba House, 3209 N. Anthony Blvd., or by calling the store at 482-8299. Store hours are 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. Tickets will be sold Saturday until the store closes.
