Hugo R Martinez, 32, of the 1200 block of Sherman Boulevard, is charged with criminal confinement, a Class C felony; intimidation, a Cass D felony; and domestic battery, a Class D felony.

According to court documents the following allegedly occurred: A Fort Wayne Police officer responding April 16 to a call found a woman with two black eyes, a bleeding swollen nose, a raised bump on her forehead and abrasions on her left arm. She complained of pain in her face and right wrist. She told the officer that she and Martinez had lived together for five years and had a child between them, but were no longer living at the same address. She said Martinez had showed up and forced her into his car by threatening to kill two of her children, who were in the back seat of his vehicle. Martinez was angry about money, she said. He drove her to his house where he pulled her hair and threw her down before repeatedly kicking her on the right side of her torso and striking her in the face with his fist. The woman said her 2-year-old and 4-year-old witnessed the beating. Martinez admitted to striking the woman several times on her face with an open hand.
