Tony Mitchell's recent strong stretch for the Mad Ants has been rewarded.
Mitchell was selected as the NBA Development League Co-Player of the Month along with Rio Grande Valley's Andrew Goudelock.
Mitchell was a major part of the Mad Ants' 10-3 record in March, averaging 22.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game over the stretch. He scored a career-high 47 points, including the game-winner, in a triple overtime win over Austin on March 22.
Mitchell has picked up more of the offensive load with guard Ron Howard out with an injury. Mitchell is a rookie who played for Alabama last season.
The Mad Ants have the seventh-best record (26-22) in the D-League with two games left. The top eight teams make the playoffs.
Goudelock averaged 25.7 points per game to help the Vipers to a 13-2 mark in March.
