U.S. Cellular will close both Fort Wayne stores in May

Wednesday, March 20, 2013 - 6:53 am

Two U.S. Cellular stores in Fort Wayne will close during the second half of May, eliminating a total of nine jobs, according to notice the company provided to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.

The stores are located in Glenbrook Square and Northcrest Shopping Center.

The closings are a consequence of U.S. Cellular's selling many of its markets to Sprint last year. Store closings planned by U.S. Cellular in May will eliminate about 765 jobs in Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Michigan and Ohio, according to U.S. Cellular.
