The application says the school, if approved by the Indiana Charter Schools Board, would open this year with a projected 130 students: 30 in sixth grade and 25 each in grades 7 through 11. There would be no seniors in the first year of the school's operation.
The public meeting is expected to have on hand a heavy contingent of Fort Wayne Community Schools staffers and likely some of its board members. Considering a resolution passed during Monday's FWCS board meeting said that the district's board is opposed to a charter at that location, the FWCS contingent is highly unlikely to be receptive to the possibility of a new school.
The meeting is set for 5:30 p.m. at the Eicher Commons dining hall, 1025 W. Rudisill Blvd.
