A Larwill man is in critical condition after being ejected from his vehicle during an early morning crash Sunday in Kosciusko County.Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department deputies and emergency workers responded at 12:36 a.m. to a report of vehicle crash on Indiana 14 near the intersection of Packerton Road. The driver, Jeffery Reiff, 25, was found outside of his vehicle and was airlifted by Samaritan helicopter to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne in critical condition, according to sheriff's department spokesman 1st Sgt. Chad Hill. Reiff’s passenger, Brian Lardino, 25, of Silver Lake, was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital in fair condition.

Kosciusko County F.A.C.T./crash team members determined that Reiff’s vehicle had been eastbound on Indiana 14 and had left the south side of the road. Reiff’s vehicle then overcorrected, causing it to skid to the north side of the road, striking an embankment. The vehicle went airborne and struck a utility pole, which caused it to overturn several times, landing on its top and ejecting Reiff who was not wearing a seat belt, according to Hill. Lardino was wearing a seat belt.

F.A.C.T. team members said the crash is still under investigation pending legal alcohol/drug lab results, according to Hill. Officers believe that speed and alcohol were factors in the crash, Hill said.
