Group seeking 'brownfield' sites for development

Saturday, February 23, 2013 - 12:01 am

The Northeast Indiana Brownfield Coalition has scheduled meetings in each of its seven counties to explain a program to assess potential brownfield properties. The coalition's goal is to promote economic development in the form of expansion, redevelopment, or development at potentially contaminated sites.

The coalition is seeking properties to be assessed, and the meetings will provide information regarding the EPA-funded program to county and city officials, police and fire representatives, building officials, redevelopment commission members, developers, Realtors, and commercial bankers. Interested property owners and the public are also encouraged to attend.

The Allen County meeting will be at 10 a.m. March 5 in Room 045 of Citizens Square, 200 E. Berry St. For more information, contact Matt Vondran at 449-7903.
