Books briefs: Book club meetings planned

Jean Bansemer, founder of the writing workforce company My Web Writers, will speak about the importance for writers to stay active in their careers during the Forester Lecture Series at 7 p.m. Sunday at Huntington University, in the Zurcher Auditorium of the Merillat Centre for the Arts, Huntington. Free admission.Adults may receive help with resumes, job searches, Facebook accounts and learning English through using Rosetta Stone with an open laptop lab 10 a.m.-noon Saturdays during February at Pontiac branch library, 2215 S. Hanna St.The adult book group meets at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Aboite branch library, 5630 Coventry Lane.The “Classics” adult book group meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Dupont branch library, 536 E. Dupont Road. “Oliver Twist” by Charles Dickens is this month's book.Girls, ages 6-12, can discuss what they're reading at 4 p.m. Monday at Tecumseh branch library, 1411 E. State Blvd.Kids discuss what they read and enjoy a root beer float, too, at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Pontiac branch library, 2215 S. Hanna St.Children can practice their reading skills by reading to friendly dogs that want to listen at these locations:•6:30 p.m. Mondays at Aboite branch library, 5630 Coventry Lane.

•4 p.m. Mondays at Grabill branch library, 13521 State St., Grabill.

•6 p.m. Mondays at Little Turtle branch library, 2201 Sherman Blvd.

•5 p.m. Thursdays at Pontiac branch library, 2215 S. Hanna St.
