Tuesday, February 19, 2013 - 3:48 pm

An 18-year-old woman was cited by Fort Wayne police for misdemeanor driving while intoxicated Monday after she hit another vehicle and crashed into a nearby building, police reports said.

According to Fort Wayne Police reports, a car driven by Maria Vazquez of the 4900 block of Vermont Lane, collided with another car shortly after 3:20 a.m. at Lafayette and Wayne streets.

Neither driver reported injuries in the crash, according to police, but the 34-year-old man at the wheel of the other vehicle was pinned in the wreck and had to be cut loose from it by Fort Wayne firefighters.

After colliding with the car, Vazquez crashed into the building at 401 E. Wayne St., according to police reports. Police said a certified breath sample she provided indicated a blood-alcohol level of .10 percent.
