After missing 33 games with a shoulder injury and then a foot infection, center Colin Chaulk returned to the Komets' lineup Saturday night in a 4-2 loss to Evansville.
How did you feel out there tonight?
Pretty crappy. It's expected. I didn't have a lot of battle in me. I guess I made a couple passes, but it was OK. I need to do a lot better than that. It will get there.
How long will it take you to feel 100 percent?
It's probably not going to happen. I don't know. It depends on how long we go. I have nerve damage in my left arm, brachial plexus problems, nerve inflamation, I guess. I can't tell you what percentage it is, but it's not 100 percent, and who's 100 percent at this time of the year? You just pull your pants up and do the work.
What did you think of the game?
t was OK, I thought we worked hard for the most part, I thought we stayed together. The third and the fourth goal were mistakes that just can't happen. There were mistakes that led up to them, and they made us pay and we didn't make them pay when they made mistakes.
We have to stop saying we can't score, and start believing we can score and it will happen. You need to believe it. You can't think it, you can't hope it, you need to believe it. That's it, bottom line. Stop blaming the refs, stop blaming your linemates, just look at yourself, work hard, play together and it will happen.
What has to happen next?
We just need to stick together and play the system. we have some guys back and now we're going to be OK. I believe we're going to be OK, I know we're going to be OK, we just have to keep working hard.
