Letter to the editor: Cheap shot

Friday, February 15, 2013 - 12:01 am

I recently read Terry Doran’s guest column about nurses and flu shots when I noted that Doran buried a cheap shot in the middle of his column.

Quote: “You are free to have an assault weapon and use it to murder 20 kids.” Mr. Doran has it wrong. Despite the hammering by the liberal press, an assault weapon wasn’t used, it was a look-alike; the mentally deranged perpetrator was using a weapon that he had gotten illegally, and, no, you are not free to “murder” anyone. This ignorant and provocative comment left me with the decision to disregard his column as meaningless, based on his bias.

I no longer will sit idly by and have people spew out wrong information. Legitimate gun owners have had enough of being whipping boys by “progressive” thinkers.

Yes, maybe I’m ranting, but it doesn’t even come close to the rant that Doran did for The News-Sentinel in another guest column about a month ago. That rant wasn’t very productive, either.
