Joining Metzger on the men’s First Team All-Conference was fellow Warrior senior Tony Henry, a graduate of Bishop Dwenger High School.
Henry finished just behind Metzger on the WHAC leaderboard with a 204.56 average in conference play. He also took home the top spot at WHAC Jamboree III and IV carrying an average over 220.0 through those two tournaments.
Additionally, Henry was named to the WHAC Champions of Character Team for best representing the five core values of the NAIA’s Champions of Character initiative – integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.
Former Columbia City standout and Indiana Tech sophomore Devin Arick was selected to the Honorable Mention All-Conference Team.
Arick finished in the top-10 in the league in average with a 186.94. His best finish came at WHAC Jamboree III, placing fourth overall.
Indiana Tech coach Larry Secrist was honored with the WHAC Champions of Character Coach award.
Headlining the awards on the women’s side was freshman Rachel Atkins, a Columbia City High School alum, after earning a First Team All-Conference selection.
Atkins’ average of 184.25 was the fifth best in the WHAC this season. She finished in third place overall at WHAC Jamboree I before capturing first place at the third jamboree.
The Warriors placed two on the Honorable Mention All-Conference Team, as sophomore Jenna Shaffer (Sidney, OH/Sidney) and freshman Emalee Wiser, a Northrop product, was also recognized.
Shaffer and Wiser landed in the top-10 in the league in average with a 178.25 and 177.87, respectively, for those bowling in at least nine games. Shaffer was the individual champion at WHAC Jamboree IV while Wiser had her best finish at WHAC Jamboree II coming in sixth place.
Senior Alicia Bowman was named to the WHAC Champions of Character Team and North Side High School graduate Jessica James and Erin Tigler received WHAC All-Academic Team recognition for their hard work and dedication in the classroom.
To qualify, an athlete must achieve a 3.25 or better GPA and be a junior or above in academic standing.
