Briefs: Black History Month program canceled; new peer review art group starts at Artlink

The History Center has canceled a Co-Celebration of Black History Month program planned for Saturday because of internal division at the African/African-American Historical Society and Museum, which had planned to collaborate on the presentation and panel discussion.Todd Maxwell Pelfrey, History Center executive director, said he hopes the program can be rescheduled for a later date.A 2-D mixed-media collage workshop with artist Randall Scott Harden will be 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at The Art Farm, 17612 N. County Line Road East, Spencerville. Cost is $75 per person and includes select materials. Light refreshments will be provided.

To register, call 238-4755.NAMI Fort Wayne will present an original theatrical performance “Mother, 4, 5, and 7,” a one-act play at 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Feb. 22 at Calhoun, Soups, Salads and Spirits, 1915 E. Calhoun St. The play was written by James Wesley Williams, a multicultural outreach specialist, and will be performed by Cindy Williams. Cost for the play, buffet and beverage is $5, plus tip.

Artists who work in oils or acrylics should bring two or three pieces of their artwork for a critique by their peers. The Peer-to-Peer Critiques will be an ongoing free program run by area artists that will meet monthly.

The meetings are free and open to the public.
