Hoosier guard respects Michigan

Sunday, February 3, 2013 - 2:52 am

Indiana junior Victor Oladipo was again a critical factor in an Indiana victory on Saturday against Michigan. The Hoosier guard spoke with the media following the big win against the top-ranked Wolverines at Assembly Hall.

On answering Michigan's runs:

“They're a terrific team. They're really good. They've got a lot of good players. Our players did a good job of battling through their runs and executing down the stretch. That's why we won.”

On whether this was their best performance of the year:

“This is one of our best. We played solid. We came together when things got tight. We did a terrific job of stepping up and making free throws at the end. The big fella (Cody Zeller) was doing his thing and Christian Watford had a double-double.

Without everybody, we couldn't win. We knew that. We needed everybody to step up. Everybody did a good job with that.”

On Michigan's Trey Burke:

“He takes a lot of shots (Burke was 9-for-24 for 25 points). He's efficient. That's what he needs to do for his team to win. A guy like that, you've got to slow him down. They have a lot of good players who are just as good with the ball and who can score at a high level. All of our players did a phenomenal job of containing him and all their players.”
