3 men face charges after drug raid
Three men face drug charges after a raid at a home Friday morning.
Fort Wayne Police Department narcotics detectives assisted the FWPD Meth Suppression Team and the Emergency Services Team in executing a search warrant for drug-related crimes at 10 a.m. Friday in the 1500 block of West Till Road, according to a news release. Police reportedly found a small marijuana-growing operation and marijuana, according to the release.
Brian McClure and Thomas McClure each face one charge each of possession of marijuana and maintaining a common nuisance. They were each being held in the City-County Lockup in lieu of $2,500. A third man faces a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana. He was released from police custody on his own recognizance.
3 people escape fire that damages duplex
Two adults and a child safely escaped a duplex fire Friday night.
Fort Wayne firefighters responded at 9:47 p.m. to a fire in the 2500 block of Lynn Avenue and found three people had gotten out safely. They brought the fire under control within 10 minutes. The fire was contained to the kitchen of an upstairs apartment and resulted in moderate damage to the two-story structure.
The blaze's cause remains under investigation.
No skating on ponds
The skating ponds at Lakeside, East Swinney, Franke and Ivan Lebamoff Reservoir parks will remain closed to skaters this weekend.
Only about 1 inch of ice has formed on the ponds since temperatures dropped this week. The Parks and Recreation Department will have the red lights and flags at the ponds to indicate that conditions are not safe, according to a news release.
