Also, Dr. Phil jumps on story everyone wishes would go away

It's time for the Cheap Shots' Super Bowl Media Day quiz. Which of the following facts will be revealed at media day today?

A. John and Jim Harbaugh are brothers.

B. IU basketball coach Tom Crean is the Harbaughs' brother-in-law.

C. Alex Smith is “happy” for Colin Kaepernick. “No, seriously.”

D. An upcoming biopic on Ray Lewis will be entitled “The Crying Game 3-D.”

The answer is A. While a few people know the Harbaughs are brothers, the media has generally ignored that storyline.

Serious business

The NFC beat the AFC 62-35 in the Pro Bowl on Sunday. Questions about the seriousness and quality of game should no longer be in dispute.

If it wasn't a serious competition, Jeff Saturday would have just switched teams in the middle of the game to hike the ball to Peyton Manning one last time. Oh. Never mind.

Must-miss TV

Dr. Phil McGraw has booked Manti Te'o hoax mastermind Ronaiah Tuiasosopo as a guest on the “Dr. Phil Show.” This answers the question: How shameless is Dr. Phil's chase for ratings?

I also don't think it's a great idea that Dr. Phil will conduct the interview entirely through a combination of Twitter and Match.com.

That's $2.17 million per win

The University of Mississippi has agreed to pay former coach Houston Nutt a lump sum of $4.35 million to complete his contract buyout. Athletic director Ross Bjork said the deal will save the athletic department $550,000 and is a “win-win” for everybody.

Coincidentally, Ole Miss' record last season was win-win and 10 losses.

Handy for cross-country travel

UCLA has investigated the Gucci backpack that freshman Shabazz Muhammad' wore during a postgame interview and declared it was a gift from his family. The good news is that Muhammad is now cleared for a cover shot on the new magazine, Team Vogue.

This thing is bound to snowball

Shaun White ended the Winter X Games in Aspen by winning the SuperPipe for the sixth straight time. His complete confession to having performed on artificially enhanced snow is expected to be revealed to Oprah or Katie Couric in 2017.
