Indiana Tech junior Dontaey Paige recently earned his second Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honor.
The Heritage High School graduate had a record-breaking weekend at the SPIRE Midwest Open in Geneva, Ohio.
Paige took home a pair of first place finishes at the meet, capturing the top spot in the 60-meter dash and the 200-meter dash. His time of 6.82 in the 60 bested a field of 65 runners and just missed breaking the school record of 6.80.
Paige set a new school standard in the 200 though with a 21.62, beating a field of 80 competitors.
Paige’s times are good enough to rank him top-5 in the NAIA in both events, ranking fourth in the 60 and third in the 200.
The Warrior track and field teams will split the squad this Saturday in competing at both the Indiana Wesleyan University Invitational, as well as the IPFW Mastodon Invitational.
