INDIANAPOLIS — People are packing an Indianapolis gun show as such events come under more scrutiny.
The Indianapolis Star reports a line three and four people wide snaked around three corners of a pavilion at the Indiana State Fairgrounds before doors opened Friday for the Indy 1500 Gun and Knife Show. It runs through Sunday.
About 250 exhibitors have reserved spots at the show.
Thirty-one-year-old James Engelking of Indianapolis was carrying an AK-47 assault rifle he hoped to sell for $900. He says he needs money to buy bunk beds for his children. He says he'll have a licensed dealer run a criminal background checks on any potential buyer.
Since the Newtown, Conn., school massacre, gun shows have come under more scrutiny because some sellers don't need to conduct background checks.
