Jail heating, cooling updated

Saturday, January 12, 2013 - 12:01 am

The Allen County Commissioners Friday agreed to spend $230,061 to upgrade heating and cooling controls at the County Jail. The work will consolidate controls installed during various expansions.

Building Commissioner Dave Fuller, meanwhile, told the Commissioners that the Allen County Community Development Corp. sold 331 properties in 2012, including 67 that included structures, for a total of $364,952. The corporation accepts tax-delinquent or abandoned properties and sells them to responsible new owners. Fuller said the group still owns 638 lots, but only 10 contain structures.
