•Trine University seeks Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service projects for Jan. 21. Project ideas should be directed to Karissa Schmoe at 1-260-665-4147 or schmoek@trine.edu by Friday.•Fifth-grade students at Roanoke Elementary School participated in a social action project that will help neglected and abused children in Belize. The project, From Huntington County to the Hummingbird Highway/Believe in Belize, gave students an opportunity to learn about and support Hosanna House, a privately-funded home that provides residential care for neglected and abused children. Roanoke students collected small toys, toothbrushes, toothpaste, colored pencils, crayons, socks, clothing, hair accessories and other items for the residents of Hosanna House.•Concordia Lutheran High School offers academic scholarships. For the Excel Scholarship, students must apply for admission to the school, plus apply for the scholarship by Jan. 31. A minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale is required to apply for the scholarship. Applications are available at www.clhscadets.com under the “Admissions” tab or can be picked up in the main office.

Other scholarships include the need-based Tuition Scholarship, a Congregation Scholarship for students who are members of Concordia Educational Association churches and the Cadet Scholarship, which rewards students who demonstrate leadership skills and good character. •Concordia Lutheran High School is raising funds for breast cancer research Monday-Jan. 18. Activities include a breast cancer survivors' assembly 8:55-9:35 a.m. Tuesday and a “Pink Out,” chuck-a-duck games and silent auction at the boys and girls basketball games Jan. 18.
