1 killed, 7 hurt when 6 vehicles pile up near New Haven

At least one person was killed in a six-vehicle wreck near New Haven this morning.Police say five cars and a semi-trailer were involved in a crash at 10:48 a.m. at U.S. 30 and Doyle Road, east of Interstate 469. When New Haven Police arrived on the scene they found one vehicle totally engulfed in fire. Seven people were taken to the hospital after the wreck; two were listed in critical condition. A spokesperson from the New Haven Police Department said authorities are expecting to find at least one more fatality as the investigation continues.

Authorities have not released the name of the person who was killed.

The westbound lane of U.S. 30 will be closed until late afternoon as cleanup after the wreck continues.
