CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE FOR THE ANIMALS: 3-7 p.m., Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control, 3020 Hillegas Road. Take a tour, visit with animals, enjoy refreshments and learn about volunteer opportunities. Guests are encouraged to bring monetary donations or canned food for cats and dogs, food for small animals and birds, durable chew toys, scoopable cat litter, towels, blankets, leashes and collars, and non-carpeted scratching posts.

FRANCIE ZUCCO JAZZ TRIO: 7-9 p.m., Triangle Park, 3010 Trier Road.

KOMETS: vs. Kalamazoo, 7:30 p.m., Memorial Coliseum, 4000 Parnell Ave. $7-$25.
