The two eastbound lanes of the St. Joe Center Road Bridge were scheduled to reopen Thursday following $3.4 million in improvements that included widening part of the foundation, replacing the deck and adding beams.
The two westbound lanes should open sometime next week, according to the Allen County Highway Department.
In addition, the sidewalk on the south side was replaced and lighting added under the bridge. Work continues on a trail that will go under the bridge on the west side.
