IPFW women fall to Indiana

The Hoosiers shot 68 percent in first half.

Hot shooting in the first half propelled the Indiana Hoosiers to a 64-47 win over IPFW in women's college basketball action Monday at Bloomington. IU hit 68 percent of its shots in the first half to take a 38-20 halftime lead.

Indiana, 5-1, was led by senior forward Aulani Sinclair who scored a game-high 18 points on 6-of-12 shooting. She knocked down 4-of-9 shots from three-point range while also pulling down seven rebounds. Jasmine McGhee recorded a double-double for the Hoosiers with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Concordia Lutheran graduate, Andrea Newbauer started at guard for Indiana and had three points and a team-high four assists.

Amanda Hyde led IPFW, 2-3, in scoring with 11 and in rebounding with eight. Rachel Mauk also scored in double figures for the Mastodons with 10.

IPFW will return to action Thursday when they travel to Southern Illinois to face the Salukis at noon.
