Caylor-Nickel Foundation donates $3 million for new Wells County YMCA

Thursday, November 22, 2012 - 5:23 am

The Caylor-Nickel Foundation announced Wednesday evening that it will make a $3 million donation to the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne toward a new Y in Wells County. Including this donation, the YMCA has raised $4.2 million toward the project goal of $7 million.

In Wells County, limited YMCA services are being provided from a temporary location in northern Bluffton. A larger, full-service, permanent 40-000-square-foot facility will be constructed on a donated 30-acre parcel of land on West Dustman Road.

The YMCA plans to break ground by spring, with a projected opening in summer 2014.
