Republicans keep asserting that this is a “center-right” nation. If that's so, then why have the Democrats won the popular vote in five of the past six presidential elections?
After the election, Rush Limbaugh said that it was too bad that Mitt Romney didn't win because his family was the kind of family that our nation needed to see in the White House. Since there's nothing wrong with the family that's in the White House right now (in fact, they're even more popular than President Obama) … .
Now Ted Nugent calls all Obama voters “Pimps, whores and welfare brats.” He sure didn't mind 30 years ago when those same people bought his music and made him rich. More drivel from a has-been entertainer who hasn't been relevant to anything for over 25 years.
Will some hate-mongering liberal explain how Obama's handling of the Long Island, N.Y., relief from Hurricane Sandy is so superior to Bush's relief efforts for the Gulf Coast after (Hurricane) Katrina.
It is good people in the Housing Authority houses cannot smoke. Smoking causes cancer and then we can pay more for their health problems. I don't smoke, and no one smokes in my home.
Just a note to Misters (David) Long, (Marlin) Stutzman, (Bob) Morris and the rest of the Republicans. You work for all of us, not just your Republican base. Maybe one of you can rise up and realize that Democrats and Independents are counting on you to what's right for everyone.
It gets old hearing people complain that money spent on campaigns (goes into economy, not disappears) or whatever is obscene because it is needed elsewhere. All money could be considered needed elsewhere. Let's expand a bit and tell those complainers no more going out to eat or to movies or sporting events.
Why would anyone care about a general having an affair? Bill Clinton is held in highest regard after having sex with an intern. That's like a teacher with a student. He made a fool of his wife … . Women adore powerful men like that.
As the government becomes more full of men who believe they know God's intentions for the rest of us better than we do, the nation can't help but become less and less a constitutional democracy. The state was never intended to be an enforcement agency for religious dogma.
