Team Indiana won the girl’s meet with 29 points, giving the Indiana all-star teams the combined title with 77 points. Illinois was second with a combined score of 138. Ashley Erba of Warsaw won the girl’s race with a course record time of 17:21.Hannah Osborn placed 26th Saturday in the NCAA Division II national championships in Joplin, Missouri and helped Grand Valley State University to the team championship.
Osborn, a red-shirt sophomore from Concordia Lutheran, finished the six kilometer course in 21 minutes, 8 seconds and was the Lakers third runner.
Grand Valley (101 points) narrowly defeated runner-up Augustana (104) and Adams State (109). Also in the race was Carroll graduate Kaylee McClanahan who placed 106th in 22:23, helping Southern Indiana to a 16-place finish.
In the men’s race, Homestead graduate Andrew McLain, running for Lewis University (Ill.), placed 106th with a 10-kilometer time of 31:35.Carroll product Robby Nierman placed 104th Saturday in the NCAA Division I national championships in Louisville, Kent.
Nierman was Indiana University’s second runner, completing the 10-kilometer course in 30 minutes, 45 seconds. Indiana placed 18th in the meet.Bishop Luers product Billy McManus placed 192nd and DeKalb graduate Zeth Baker was 223rd at Saturday’s NCAA Division III national championships in Terre Haute.
McManus finished the 8-kilometer course in 26 minutes 18 seconds and was number three man for Wabash, which placed 28th.
Baker, from DeKalb, finished in 26:38 and was Manchester’s number three man, helping the team finish 29th.Huntington University placed 20th Saturday in the NAIA National Championships held in Vancouver, Wash.
The Foresters had 510 points.
Also running in the meet were Indiana Tech individuals Cherrie Gaines (101st) and Brenna Conger (119th).
In the men’s race, Indiana Tech’s Aaron Belcher placed 104th.
