The News-Sentinel selected the six finalists and now it is up to you, the reader, to determine who should be the News-Sentinel Fan Choice Player of the Week. Vote for the area high school football player who you feel had the best performance during the weekend. The winner of this weekly award will be solely determined through online voting at news-sentinel.com. The polls are open now and will close at 8 p.m. Monday. The Fan Choice Player of Week, along with the Offense Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week, will be announced in Tuesday's issue of The News-Sentinel.

Tyrell Swain, Snider — Rushed for a team-high 114 yards on 15 carries and scored two touchdowns to help Snider defeated Merrillville 42-39 to advance to its first state championship game in eight year.

Brandon Phelps, Snider — Was 18-of-22 for 199 passing yards and threw threw three touchdowns as Snider scored 35 first-half points in its semistate victory against Merrillville.

Addison Dellinger, Snider — Led Snider with 106 receiving yards and had two touchdowns, including a 53-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter, as Snider beat Merrillville to win a semistate title.

Jaylon Smith, Bishop Luers — Had a game-high 142 rushing yards, including a 52-yard run in the third quarter that helped set up a touchdown, to lead Bishop Luers past Andrean and into the state finals for the fourth consecutive year.

Tyvel Jemison, Bishop Luers — Ran in for a touchdown in the second quarter to give Bishop Luers a 14-point halftime lead that it would not relinquish against Andrean in its semistate victory.

Kendrick Mullen, Bishop Luers — Had a key interception in the first half and disrupted Andrean's passing attack throughout the game as Bishop Luers beat Andrean 35-21 to win a semistate title.
