WBCL Radio Network News Director Larry Bower won the Indiana Broadcasters Association's first place trophy for best radio newscast in Indiana Market 2 at the association's annual awards banquet Nov. 10 in Indianapolis.
Market 2 includes stations in Fort Wayne, South Bend, Evansville, Terre Haute, Muncie and Lafayette, a WBCL news release said.
Bower joined the Christian, locally based WBCL network as a news reporter in August 2001, the news release said. He has been news director since March 2004.
Bower provides local, regional, national and world news on WBCL on weekday mornings as part of the morning team with Jim Barron and Phil Reaser.
WBCL Radio Network broadcasts at 90.3-FM in Fort Wayne. It can be heard on other radio frequencies in the Tri-state area and at www.wbcl.org.
