The newly formed Vietnam Veterans of America National Homecoming-2013 organization will have a brief ceremony at 10 a.m. Sunday to honor all Vietnam veterans who served 1963-1975 and their families at the Cathedral of Praise Ministries International Church, 3501 Harris Road.

The event begins a year-long series of programs culminating in a "national celebration" next October at Memorial Coliseum. The date represents the 50th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy’s executive order authorizing the U.S. military to assist the government of South Vietnam.
