It certainly won’t cripple our economy anything like hiding war expenses and giving banks and huge corporations free reign did. And, come on, there’s nothing against religious liberty about it — it doesn’t make people take a pill their religion says is wrong. What kills me is how some people say the word “Obamacare”; it reminds me how they used to say “bleeding hearts.”
I’m proud to have a heart that bleeds for other people. Let’s all have one of those and put those first who are not as well off as are we. Let’s give this universal care deal its fighting chance.
Kelley RenzRegarding the deer culling scheduled for Nov. 13, 14, 26 and 27, maligning our state’s parks’ system: This truly needs to be stopped.
We do believe fewer state parks are participating in this operation this year — we did our best last season to protest. We literally cannot believe this horror is allowed, encouraged, whatever (great moneymaker for this state; the real bottom line). Certainly there are some Hoosiers besides us who are appalled at this canned plan and the false justifications for mass murder and slaughter.
Wow, Indiana, please rethink. Congrats, Gov. Mitch Daniels, on your pending presidency of Purdue University, famed college of veterinary science; please take a tip from New York’s Mayor Bloomberg who called an almost instant halt to the marathon that would have damaged the reputation of his city at a crucial time for consideration of what is civil and kind and responsible.
Please prevent this heinous slaughter immediately, prior to the dates which have been publicized and reported for shutting down our parks for this profit-generating and profit-motivated mass killing — a misguided, rationalized massacre.

Columbia CityThank you for taking the time to look over an alternative idea proposal for Fort Wayne’s Legacy Fund. The Legacy Fund’s potential for the city cannot be ignored. Many ideas have been suggested for the use of $75 million available in the near future for improvements on the city.
Proposals thus far leave out the possibility of passenger railway running through the heart of downtown and offering destinations such as, Indianapolis, Muncie, Bloomington, and West Lafayette. In the future we could think to connect out of state with possible locations being Chicago, Detroit, Cincinnati, and more.
Bringing more people to Fort Wayne could do wonders for our city’s downtown businesses and culture. With more people traveling through Fort Wayne the higher the chance of greater foot traffic downtown. Possible increases in sales in businesses located downtown and also newcomers exploring downtown looking for events to attend would build Fort Wayne’s culture. A passenger railway system running through downtown should be reconsidered as a possible Legacy Fund idea.
