NEWS-SENTINEL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Bayden Lee, Carroll place kicker -- Kicked a 32-yard game-winning field goal with less than 15 seconds left in the game to give Carroll a victory against South Bend Adams and the school's first sectional championship since 2001.

NEWS-SENTINEL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Ryan Watercutter, Bishop Dwenger -- Made two fourth quarter interceptions, including an interception in the endzone late in the fourth quarter, to secure Bishop Dwenger's sectional final victory against Norwell. He also on offense caught a game-high eight passes for 117 yards and had a 18-yard touchdown reception.

NEWS-SENTINEL FAN CHOICE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Ben Gibson, Heritage receiver -- Had three touchdown receptions and a team-high 78 receiving yards as Heritage upset No. 1 Jimtown 40-29 to win the sectional championship. Gibson received 360 votes and 55.3 percent of the total vote in the online voting to win this new weekly award. Online polls for next week's Fan Choice Player of the Week will be open Saturday through Monday evening at news-sentinel.com.
