New Haven woman dies in wreck

Monday, November 5, 2012 - 12:47 pm

An 18-year-old New Haven woman died early Monday morning after being ejected from her vehicle in a single-vehicle crash, authorities said.

Emergency workers responded at about 1:08 a.m. to the 11400 block of North River Road, according to the Allen County Coroner's Office. Amelia Kate Castleman was the only occupant in her vehicle at the time of the crash, the coroner's office said in a statement.

Castleman was taken to a local hospital and was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. She had not been wearing a seat belt, according to the statement.

Castleman's death marks Allen County's 33rd traffic-related fatality of the year, according to the coroner's office. Authorities do not believe alcohol was a factor in the wreck.
