Health briefs: Learn about overcoming abuse, being a male caregiver

Sixth annual “Breaking Through The Silence: The Noise of Overcoming an Abusive Situation” Lecture will be noon-1:15 p.m. Tuesday at Walb Student Union Ballroom, 2101 E. Coliseum Blvd. Speaker will be Chris Garrett, department of labor grant coordinator and project coordinator for Ivy Tech Corporate College. The lecture is free and open to the public.In addition after Garrett's speech, a resource fair will be held featuring agencies that serve victims of domestic abuse.

The event is free.

Transportation is free for MDwise members. To schedule transportation, call 1-800-356-1204 at least two days in advance. Guests will receive child-related gift items and be provided a light dinner.
