A Fort Wayne teen has been arrested in a crash that killed an Auburn woman in September on Bluffton Road.
Allen County Sheriff's Department warrants officers arrested Kevin Nader, 19, at his home Friday evening, according to Cpl. Jeremy Tinkel, sheriff's department spokesman. Nader was arrested on charges of driving under the influence, reckless homicide and driving under the influence resulting in death. He was being held at the Allen County Jail in lieu of a $30,000 bond.
At 6 a.m. Sept. 29 a Jeep driven by Nader crossed the center line on Bluffton Road just south of Ferguson Road, striking a Volkswagen Beetle that was traveling north, according to previous police reports. The head-on collision caused the VW to spin into the ditch while the Jeep overturned in the middle of the road.
The driver of the VW, Melissa A. Aschliman, 44, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Our news partner, WANE, NewsChannel 15, reported that records showed Nader's blood-alcohol level was 0.18, above the 0.08 legal limit.
