Orchid show

The annual juried orchid show takes place noon-5 p.m. Saturday and noon-4 p.m. Sunday at Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory, 1100 S. Calhoun St.
Orchid growers from this area will compete in specimen, collection, and creative display categories, and vendors will sell plants and orchid-related merchandise.
The event is sponsored by the Three Rivers Orchid Society.
Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for children and free for ages 2 and under.

Birthday concert

To honor the 100th birthday of American composer John Cage, IPFW will have a concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Rhinehart Recital Hall, 2101 Coliseum Blvd. E.
IPFW students and faculty, including Robert Bean, Melanie Bookout, Julie Donnell, Laura Lydy, Steve Sarratore, Eric Schweikert, Hamilton Tescarollo and Farrell Vernon, perform along with guest artists Jason Markzon of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic and John Mark Rozendaal.
Admission is $7 for adults, $6 for seniors, $4 for nonIPFW students and free for ages 10 and under and IPFW students with ID. Tickets are available at 481-6555 or visit www.ipfw.edu/music.
