Community Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Indiana will be collecting food and funds for Turkey Rally 2012, starting Thursday, from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Community Harvest will collect frozen turkeys, hams, holiday food items, and monetary donations to help provide holiday meals to those in need. All donations can be brought to Community Harvest, 999 E. Tillman Road.
YOYO Frozen Yogurt will also serve as a collection point for frozen turkeys from Thursday to Nov. 19. For every frozen turkey brought in to their Lima Road or Illinois Road locations, the donor will receive a free cup of yogurt.
Over the last five years, Turkey Rally has raised $40,409 and distributed more than 2,250 turkeys and hams, as well as nearly 8,000 pounds of additional holiday food items. It is estimated that Community Harvest will supply over 8,000 holiday meals this year via their 430 member agencies.
