Fort Wayne Police officers will distribute candy during trick-or-treat hours in the city 6-8 p.m. Wednesday. The Patrolmen's Benevolent Association, to encourage interaction between officers and children, asks parents to have their little ghost or goblin get candy from police officers on duty.

Each year the Patrolmen's Benevolent Association purchases Halloween candy to be handed out by its on-duty police officers, while supplies last, as officers are able to safely do so between calls for service.

Note that officers should not be approached during traffic stops, accidents or other volatile situations.
