DOWC, a Wisconsin-based company, plans to move to a larger facility in Fort Wayne and add 18 jobs. The Fort Wayne-Allen County Economic Development Alliance announced Tuesday that DOWCO will move from 2827 Freeman St. to a 41,840-square-foot facility at 3505 Independence Drive. Based in Manitowoc, DOWCO makes premium covers for the marine and power sports industries.

In just two years of operation, DOWCO has more than tripled its business in Fort Wayne and has increased its workforce at an equivalent rate. Fourteen people are now employed at the Fort Wayne site.

The company plans to move into its new location in early November. The company has budgeted for significant capital expenditures in 2013, the alliance said, which will lay the foundation for additional business and job growth at its Fort Wayne operations.

The Fort Wayne City Council will consider approval of tax abatement for DOWCO's planned investment in new manufacturing equipment and building improvements in November.
