CONCORDIA THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY, 6600 N. Clinton St., will hold an organ recital with Stephen Buzard at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 4 in Kramer Chapel. All Saints' Choral Vespers with the Seminary Scholar Cantorum takes place at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 4 in Kramer Chapel. The Good Shepherd Institute's conference, Shepherd of Tender Youth: Connecting Postmoderns to Christ, takes place Nov. 4-6.EMMANUEL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 9909 Wayne Trace, will offer a free end-of-life seminar 6-8 p.m. Nov. 1. EMMAUS LUTHERAN CHURCH AND SCHOOL, 8626 Covington Road, received a two-to-one, $5,000 challenge grant from the Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Foundation, which will help the congregation eliminate debt and enhance its effectiveness in discipleship, witnessing and evangelism.

EPWORTH UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 105 W. 8th St., Matthews, will have Steve Ladd perform in concert at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 11; donations accepted.

FIRST CHURCH OF CHRIST, SCIENTIST, will hold a talk about overcoming fear of violence, accidents, disasters and disease at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 10 at the Allen County Public Library, 900 Library Plaza. Marie Helm will speak.

FIRST MENNONITE CHURCH, Berne, will hold rehearsals of the Mennonite Choral Society for Handel's “Messiah” at 7 p.m. Tuesdays, through Nov. 27, and includes a dress rehearsal Nov. 30. Performance is at 7 p.m. Dec. 1 and at 3 p.m. Dec. 2.

FIRST WAYNE STREET UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 300 E. Wayne St., will present Wednesdays on Wayne Street. Derek Reeves performs on violin/viola at 12:15 p.m. today. Free admission; $5 lunch available after the concerts.

GOOD SHEPHERD UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 4700 Vance Ave., will hold a Taize worship service at 5 p.m. Sunday; enter Door 6. The service will be held in Room 141.HOPE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 6608 Hoagland Road, will hold trunk-n-treat 6-8 p.m. Oct. 31.

LEO UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 13527 Leo Road, Leo-Cedarville, is holding GriefShare sessions each Saturday morning through Dec. 1. This seminar/support group is for any adults who are going through the loneliness of the loss of a loved one. Meetings begin at 10 a.m. and last approximately two hours.
