At the teppanyaki-style grill, customers can choose their own meats and vegetables and have it cooked by a chef right before their eyes. The restaurant also will have a sushi bar, a slew of entrees and side dishes, a dessert buffet and an ice cream buffet with eight flavors.
This is the restaurant's seventh location in Indiana; it's one of 52 restaurants in the chain.
The lunch buffet is served 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and is $6.89. The dinner buffet is served 3:30-9:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday; 3:30-10:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday; and 11 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Sundays and is $9.89. Kids 2 and under eat free. “Mixology 201: The Science of Cocktails” will be 6:30-10:30 p.m. at the science center, 1950 N. Clinton St. Award-winning mixologists from around the country will create specialty cocktails. In addition, students and professors from Ivy Tech's culinary program will conduct food demonstrations with cutting-edge gastronomy tools; and Baker Street will provide food.
Mixologists include Arthur Black from Miami; Las Vegas-based “Bobby G” Gleason; and Tim Atz, a Kendallville native who graduated at the top of his class at the Professional Bartending School of America.
Ivy Tech students will prepare gourmet treats using scientific techniques, such as granita salad and vinaigrette foamed in liquid nitrogen and hot maple ice cream on bacon-dusted elephant ears, among other treats.
Tickets are $60 per person or $100 per couple, or $350 for a group of eight tickets. Go to www.sciencecentral.org to buy tickets. This is Science Central's biggest fundraising event of the year.Fort Wayne Ballet is hosting a special afternoon Princess Tea for children and adults. The event is 2-4 p.m. Nov. 4 at the Fort Wayne Country Club, 5221 Covington Road.
It's two hours of fun, dance and goodies. A personal tiara and craft will await each child, while parents can peruse items in a silent auction and sip on champagne. The tea ends with a short performance by the Fort Wayne Ballet. Tickets for this fundraiser are $35 per person, and reservations are required by Friday. Call 484-9646 for reservations.Vincent Village — a transitional shelter serving homeless families and children since 1989 — is hosting A Place at Our Table, a farm-to-table dinner and auction event.
It will be 6-10 p.m. Nov. 15, which is during National Hunger and Homeless Awareness Week. The dinner will feature locally sourced ingredients, some of northern Indiana's most noted chefs, and wine and beer pairings at Thermodyne Foodservice Products, 2300 Meyer Road, New Haven.
Local and regional chefs will be paired with farms and purveyors of locally grown foods to provide a 15-course meal, served tapas style (small portions). Wine, beer and seasonal drinks will complement the food.
