This is great news for those who are gluten-intolerant or who have celiac disease — especially if you live southwest.

Buffet in the works
A sign says Teppanyaki Grill and Supreme Buffet is going in where Circuit City used to be on Coliseum Boulevard, next to Dick's. No word on when it will open, but when I stuck my head in it looked as if they have a long way to go. Even in its raw state, the remodeling suggests it's going to have an impressive interior.
Belmont Beverage at The Shoppes of Scott Road, 10311 Illinois Road, is hosting an Independence Tasting Event 6-8 p.m. Friday.
Hat tip to Tastee Twirl
I have to give a shout out to the Tastee Twirl on U.S. 33 in Rockford, Ohio. A few weeks ago, I had car trouble in Rockford and parked my vehicle under a shade tree in the Tastee Twirl parking lot. The owner came out and shot the breeze with us while another local man went out of his way to help us, driving into Van Wert to get us a new radiator cap. I know small towns sometimes get a bad rap, but within 15 minutes of sitting there with the hood up we had three offers of help.
And, of course, while we were waiting, we had to order some food from the Tastee Twirl. I recommend the fried pickles.

I'm told Vince's in Chapel Ridge has closed. I couldn't make it out there this week to verify, but when I called the restaurant, the phone just rang and rang, and Vince's website is down. Also, the Vince's in Muncie has closed.
