BLOOMINGTON — An Anderson man faces a preliminary charge of involuntary manslaughter in connection with another man's drowning at Lake Monroe.

The Herald-Times reports that 22-year-old Dillon Barrett was arrested Saturday evening by Indiana conservation officers on preliminary felony charges of involuntary manslaughter and battery resulting in serious bodily injury.

Conservation officers were called Saturday to the Fourwinds Resort and Marina near Bloomington to investigate a possible drowning.

Twenty-nine-year-old Matthew Hosier of Anderson was later pronounced dead at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.

Indiana Conservation officer Scott Johnson says an investigation of Hosier's death revealed that he had gotten into an altercation with another man at the Fourwinds' boat rental dock area.

Monroe County coroner Nicole Meyer says an autopsy is scheduled to be performed Tuesday on Hosier's body in Terre Haute.
