Two men were hurt – one critically – and taken for medical treatment after an early morning crash where police investigators believe their motorcycles came together while they were riding.
The incident took place around 4 a.m., according to a news release from the Fort Wayne Police Department. Emergency responders were dispatched to the 6600 block of Illinois Road to investigate a report of a critical-injury crash involving motorcycles.
Responders found two men; one was judged to be in critical condition at the scene, the other in stable, the release said. Neither man’s identity was released.
Preliminary investigation indicates two motorcycles were traveling west, in the same lane, when for some reason the motorcycles made contact, the release said. One of the motorcycles crashed immediately, while the other went a short distance before crashing.
Neither person was wearing a helmet, and the release said investigators are determining if speed and alcohol use were factors in the crash.
