Gas prices hit new high here

Gasoline prices continue to rise with another new record locally. AAA's Fuel Finder reported early this morning that the Fort Wayne area average was $3.556 per gallon of regular. Gas stations at Kroger on Spy Run Avenue and Lassus at State Boulevard and Clinton Street early this morning were advertising $3.659 a gallon for regular gasoline, about 22 cents higher than many places Tuesday.

In early March, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded in Fort Wayne was $3.34. The previous record, set last May, was $3.52.
